Why was Waiheke Island and Batch Winery the perfect backdrop for your love story?
Batch Winery really caught our eye with its beautiful views. We have always loved Batch Winery and felt it had all the things we wanted - a peaceful setting, beautiful view and homey feel.
What was the vision you wanted for your wedding day, and how does this reflect you as a couple?
We really wanted the day to feel calm, with a big focus on our friends and family!
We put a lot of time into making the ceremony special for us, focusing on God and each other while taking our time to enjoy that moment. It was my favourite part of the day!
How did you bring your ceremony and reception spaces to life?
We really wanted the view to do the talking for our ceremony, so we only added some simple (and beautiful!) flower plinths at the aisle. Our amazing musicians brought life to the space with music!
I had a vision of a perfect candlelit dinner with bud vases all along the tables for our reception - It truly turned out exactly as I imagined. I love looking back at the photos of that moment and just remembering having all of our people together in that beautiful place!
Where was your favourite spot at Batch Winery to escape for your wedding photos?
I love our photos in the vineyard. It just really captures the essence of the whole property!
During the reception, our MC spontaneously told everyone to go outside to take some sunset photos - it felt so surreal, and the sunset was so beautiful. This is definitely a moment I would relive if I could.
