Thomas Field Blend Rosé 2023

Our Field Blend Rosé takes a more traditional approach to the way in which Rosé is made. A “Field Blend” requires that the grapes are blended in the field (the vineyard) rather than finished wines blended in the cellar. Our Field Blend Rosé is a mosaic of the many varietals found on our vineyards on Waiheke Island, Merlot, Montepulciano, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Gris and Flora. All six varietals are harvested are hand harvested and gently whole bunch pressed to extract only a small amount of colour. The juice is cold settled, racked and inoculated for a long cool fermentation to produce a stye of rose inspired by those from the south of France.
 
Winemaker's notes: This Rose transports you to the Mediterranean; its vibrant, delicate and has a crunchy coastal minerality. Pale apricot in colour, with aromas of dried Lavender, Peach and Nectarine and Orange blossom, the palate is luscious and mineral. Enjoy drinking now.
